If you have unlimited resources and a way of getting to bid at the auction maybe OK, but auctions are usually limited to car dealers, salvage vehicle re-builders, and collectors, I am sure that you have a friend of a friend to a friend that is more than willing to bid for you and then will walk away with $50-$100 of your money for bidding for you. ( maybe there is a auction that is open to the general public some where but I have no idea where)

99% of the time you will not get a chance to start the vehicle up.



There is a reason why that vehicle is being sold at the auction.



Cars to stay away from are ALL OF THE MUSCLE CARS.



Cars are sent out of the south where there has been a bunch of flooding, a flood car is worthless.



Best buy and might be worth taken a chance on the rest of the car is a model that is only one or two years old and has been rolled, with minimal front and rear end damage. Your question to me should be WHY? So I will tell you. A rolled vehicle is always totaled. minimal damage to front and back means the motor is not hurt and it also means that maybe the only thing that you are going to need to do is replace the roof and a little tweaking. If the vehicle was rolled it also mean that the vehicle was maybe nothing wrong with it but having been rolled. Once you have finished the work on it then you will have to get a salvage title on it. So as long as you are the only one to own it it will look great and run well but when ever you get ready to trade it in it will bring very little

I have to agree, do not buy a car for yourself at the auction. The best cars are the ones through factory sales which you must be a dealer to purchase. Another thing with the auction is that you have very little time to inspect the car, can't run a carfax, can't have a mechanic look at it, etc. Buy a car retail from a private party, that way you'll have time to properly inspect the car and insure you a getting a good one.I am looking to buy a car at an auto auction. any recommendations or advice??
Don't do it unless you have the knowledge to fully inspect the car for mechanical problems. Trust is one thing missing at the auto auction.



Most auctions sell cars that need work. And there is no policy that allows for returns or money back if you buy a piece of junk.

Auto auctions are not the place to buy an automobile for yourself they are a place for dealers to get rid of there junk or problem vehicles. Dealers are masters at covering up defects from other dealers who are trained to spot them my advice is don't do it
im not really sure where any are down there. Get yourself a muscle car, well i guess it depends on your price range. What i want to buy is a 1970 chevelle ss with a 454. Or like a camaro with a 327. HOOHRAH.
