How much can I get a corvette at a salvage auto auction ?

Can some body give me an idea of how much a C5 or C6 corvette will run me? I have 9k and want to see what I can get my hands.|||You won't get one for $9k. You won't get one for $9. You won't get one for $900k. By the time the make it to the junk yard, it won't be worth much. It will already be parted out. But I'm sure the junk yard dealer will sell you a junked one for $9k.

Now, for a regular auto auction, you'll probably be paying at or slightly above blue book depending upon the year and condition of the 'vette. Look up the blue book value and see what you might expect to pay for any particular year model and condition.

C5 was made between 1997 and 2004

C6 was made between 2005 and 2012

Dealer: 1997 C5 in excellent condition will run you $12,000%26gt; Later years and models will be more.

Private: $8,800 in poor condition. That's about what you'll get with $9,000. Maybe 1 or 2 years later model.|||Depending on the mileage, you'll get between 17,000 and 45,000

the $17,000 corvette has about 80,000 miles and the $45,000 corvette has about 7,000 miles.

If you want the best deal, I suggest the Manheim Auction. They have the best cars and many dealers including Straightline Auto etc. use them to purchase cars. Good Luck|||salvage auto auction should never be an option. Once a car has been "salvaged" you can NOT get a tag for it. It becomes for parts use only.

Now if you have the money you can get a rebuilt title for a salvaged car. You can not do the work on it yourself though. You have to go through your states DMV, find state approved repair shop, haul car to them and have them repair everything wrong with car.. Pretty much restore it to like new.

Them you set up a dated/time with DMV, pay a fee and have it inspected, if it passes you then pay the fee for a rebuilt tile and in 4 to 6 weeks you will get a title that says rebuilt across it. You then can get a tag for car and drive it on the roads.

Resell on said car will be about 40% of worth just due to the rebuilt title. Even though its been repired, most people will NOT want to buy one with a rebuilt title.

Junkyard is also not an option. By the time it makes it to a junkyard and gets picked over it will cost you $20K to replace all the missing parts

You will NOT get a driveable C5 for $9,000

In my area an early C5 (97-99) will run you in the $11,000 to 15,000 range.. Here's a few
