I am a wholesaler. I generally don't buy junk. Car auctions charge about $200 in fees for every car sold regardless of price, this fee is split between the seller and the buyer. That being said, the cheapest I have ever seen a car sell for is around $200, with the fee, that puts the cost around $300.00 for the buyer.

To give you an idea, the cheapest car I ever bought was a Ford Escort Wagon, with under 100k. Good clean car, I think it was around $800.00 with the fee.

If you go to www.KBB.com and look at trade in values, you will get a good idea of a whoesale price of a car, generally this is a little higher than what the car will bring at auction, but a good starting point. What's the cheapest price car that a auto dealer bought at a dealer auction?
Question: are you directing this at auto dealers? Is it your hope that an auto dealer would respond with an answer?

If it is your hope to find an inexpensive car, you'll need to shop around.
