What do I need to be able to buy at a dealers' auto auction?

I would like to buy and sell, maybe, 6 to 10 cars a year. Do I have to have an actual dealer's license in order to attend the dealers' auction? Or is there a way around this?|||If you are wanting to sell 6 to 10 cars a year in most states you are consider a dealer. Check with your local DMV. A dealer auction is for dealers. Now their are some places that have auctions open to the public. Has you local auction center. In some states if you can sell up to 5 cars a year without a dealer lic. Once again, check with your local DMV.|||Of course you do. Thats why its a clsoed dealer-only auction. If anyone could walk in and buy/sell it would be a public auction.

You either need a dealer license, or a dealer friend willing to let you use his license. If you choose the latter, be sure its a GOOD friend. When you buy, the bill of sale and title will be in the dealer name. he can easily say 'thanks for the car' and leave you in the lurch
