Does an auto auction have to report a collision on a vehicle that they are auctioning off?

If a car is being sold at auction, does the buyer have to be made aware of the vehicle's collision history even if the car has already been repaired?|||Nope|||in Canada yes. however in some states no.contact local used car dealer association.unless car is sold as is,where is auction.listed in fine print states that previous history unknown.eg.estate auction.or where previous owner has passed.|||No.

I have been around hundreds of auctions, and all allowed the cars to be inspected before purchase. All sales are final, and "as-is". And, usually, even the auction company doesn't know of the vehicle's collision history... nor do they care.|||Most auctions run their cars through a car fax like service and then put "salvage" in big letters in the front window so that a buyer would have to be blind to miss it.

If its not previous or current salvage and/or core support frame damage, they have NO RESPONSIBILITY WHATSOEVER. its 100% on the buyer to inspect what they bid on before they bid on it.

If collision damage was important to you, find out if it had it BEFORE you bid.

Only if the car had a previous salvage history and the auction failed to notify you would you have a prayer of getting your money back. Thats, very, very rare.

If you buy a previous salvage car, there is a 99.9% chance your bill of sale says it and if you signed it, you own it.
